No presente estudo, pelas próprias características do Centro de Curativos, o perfil dos pacientes estudados representa, em sua maioria, quadros precoces e, portanto, de melhor prognóstico, o que em parte justifica o sucesso terapêutico observado: cicatrização de 85,7% das úlceras venosas e 80% das lesões de mal perfurante plantar num período inferior a dois meses.
Quando levamos em conta as doenças de base como insuficiência venosa, diabetes Mellitus e neuropatia pós-hansênica, como fatores dificultadores da reparação tecidual, foi possível constatar uma resposta cicatricial relativamente rápida nos casos descritos.
É importante, ainda, ressaltar a segurança da medicação utilizada, sem nenhum caso de efeitos colaterais sistêmicos ou eczema de contato observados, estando de acordo com dados da literatura.18
Estudos prospectivos, randomizados e comparativos entre a associação da Sulfadiazina de Prata a 1% e Nitrato de Cério a 0,4% e outras terapêuticas tópicas estão em andamento no sentido de consolidar a ação desta droga como agente facilitador da cicatrização tecidual.
